Biography

After studying at Brighton, Kevin Hauff entered into the commercial art world. An early break came in receiving the ‘Best Newcomer’ Award from the Association of Illustrators. Recognition has increased with further awards, both in the UK and in the US. Kevin has worked in all areas of commissioned illustration and now has a wide ranging international client list.

Having previously had agency representation, Kevin is now currently ‘self represented’ with a new collective called 741 Illustration formed in 2004, of which he was a founder member.

A sketchbook, paint and collage are the primary media for making imagery, working from impasto to glazes exploring many varied themes and subjects.

Film and cinema have always been an influential part of Hauff’s work, from subtle compositional shots to extremes of characterisation in bygone gangster movies and even the extravagant set pieces of 50’s B movies. All have been absorbed and made a part of the artwork in some form or another. This genre overflows into his imagery from western movie clichés to rocket men and beyond.

About Me

I use collage and paint on canvas and board to create artwork, ranging in size from the tiny to large wall sized images. I am happy to undertake any form of commission including private and commercial or corporate applications. Artwork can be supplied either framed or unframed to the either the artist or the buyer’s specification.
